What is Wagyu?

Wagyu beef is a premium type of beef that is prized for its intense flavor and tender texture. The Wagyu breed of cattle originated in Japan, and the name Wagyu literally means “Japanese Cow”. Wagyu beef is known for its high level of marbling, which refers to the intramuscular fat that is dispersed throughout the meat. This marbling gives Wagyu beef its unique flavor and tenderness. Wagyu beef is also higher in monounsaturated fats than other types of beef, making it healthier as well. In addition, Wagyu cattle are raised in a stress-free environment and are fed a diet of grain and hay to promote marbling. As a result, Wagyu beef is truly a premium product.
